Everyone Starts Somewhere — We Make Sure You Start Right
Gideon Training Solutions was built on the belief that every responsible adult deserves access to quality firearms training — regardless of their experience level. Our Basic Pistol course is designed specifically for people who are new to firearms, new to shooting, or who want to build a stronger foundation after learning on their own.
We do not assume you know anything going in. We start with the fundamentals — the four rules of firearm safety, how a pistol works, how to hold it, how to aim it, and how to fire it accurately. By the end of the course, you will have put rounds downrange with coaching from a certified NRA and USCCA instructor who was watching your technique and helping you improve it in real time.
Our classes are small on purpose. We do not pack a dozen beginners onto a firing line and hope for the best. We keep group sizes manageable so every student gets the attention they need to build real competence — not just familiarity.

Our instructors hold NRA and USCCA certifications and bring real-world experience to every beginner class. We have taught hundreds of first-time shooters across the Dallas-Fort Worth area — and we understand the questions, the nerves, and the learning curve that come with picking up a firearm for the first time.

What Comes After Basic Pistol
Basic Pistol is the starting point — not the destination. Many of our students use this course as the foundation for their Texas License to Carry class, which requires a shooting qualification that is much easier to pass when you have already built solid fundamentals. Others go on to our Concealed Carry Fundamentals course, our Home Defense training, or our Private 1-on-1 coaching sessions.
We are intentional about the progression we recommend for each student. After your Basic Pistol course, we will talk with you about where you want to go next — whether that is getting your LTC, improving your accuracy, learning to carry concealed, or simply becoming more comfortable and confident with your firearm at home.
We also offer this course as a private session for individuals who prefer one-on-one instruction, or for couples and small groups who want to learn together. Private sessions allow us to move at your pace, focus on your specific questions, and tailor the range exercises to your goals.
