Personal Protection Training

Personal Protection Training
in Dallas-Fort Worth

Safety is not something you buy — it is something you build. Whether or not you own a firearm, this course gives you the awareness, the tools, and the confidence to protect yourself and the people you care about.

Personal Safety Is About More Than What You Carry

A lot of people think personal protection starts and ends with a product — a firearm, a can of pepper spray, a door lock. Those things matter. But the most important tool you have is your awareness, and awareness is something you have to practice. This course is built around that idea.

Our Personal Protection training is led by Shannon Gulley — a USCCA Certified Instructor, R.A.D. (Rape Aggression Defense) certified instructor, and domestic violence advocate who has spent years working with women, families, and communities across the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Shannon does not teach from a script. She teaches from experience — her own, and the experiences of the people she has walked alongside through some of the hardest moments of their lives. That shapes everything about how she runs a class.

This course is open to everyone, regardless of whether you own a firearm or ever plan to. We cover the full range of personal protection options — from situational awareness and de-escalation to non-lethal tools and the legal framework for self-defense in Texas. For students who want to take the next step toward adding a firearm to their plan, we can connect this course directly to our Basic Pistol, Concealed Carry, or Private 1-on-1 training. We serve students across Arlington, Fort Worth, Dallas, Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Irving, Grand Prairie, Mansfield, and all DFW cities.

This Course Is for Anyone Who Wants to Be Safer

We have taught this course to women who have never touched a firearm, to men who carry daily and wanted to sharpen their non-lethal options, to parents who wanted to talk to their kids about safety, and to seniors who live alone and wanted to feel more confident in their own homes. The common thread is not a demographic — it is a decision to take personal safety seriously.

We also offer this course as a private session for individuals who prefer one-on-one instruction, and as a group session for organizations, workplaces, churches, and community groups. If you are looking for a personal safety program for your team or congregation, we can shape the curriculum around your specific environment and concerns. That kind of customization is something we do regularly, and we take it seriously.

Personal protection is not a one-time event. It is a practice — something you return to and build on over time. After this course, we will talk with you about what makes sense as a next step, whether that means adding a firearm to your plan, continuing to develop your non-lethal skill set, or simply knowing that you have a resource you can call when questions come up. We are here for the long conversation, not just the one afternoon.
