Accessibility Statement
Our Commitment to Accessible Training for All
This policy is provided for general informational purposes and should be reviewed by a qualified attorney before final publication.
1. Our Commitment
Gideon Training Solutions is committed to ensuring that our website, training programs, and facilities are accessible to all individuals, including those with disabilities. We believe that everyone who can safely and legally handle a firearm deserves access to professional training. We continuously work to improve the accessibility of our digital platforms and physical training environments to provide an inclusive experience for all students.
2. Website Accessibility
We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards in the design and development of our website. Our accessibility features include: adjustable text sizing for improved readability; high contrast mode for users with low vision; grayscale mode for reduced visual stimulation; readable font mode that switches to accessible sans-serif typography; animation pause controls for users sensitive to motion; keyboard navigation support with visible focus indicators; screen reader compatibility with proper semantic HTML and ARIA labels; and alternative text for all meaningful images. We regularly audit our website for accessibility compliance and implement improvements as standards evolve.
3. Training Facility Accessibility
We work with range facilities that comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to the greatest extent possible. We recognize that some range facilities may have limitations due to their age, construction, or terrain. If you have mobility, sensory, or other accessibility needs, please contact us before registering for a class so we can: confirm the facility can accommodate your needs; arrange for any necessary modifications or assistance; recommend the most appropriate training program for your situation; and ensure our instructors are prepared to provide appropriate accommodations.
4. Accommodations for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students
We are committed to providing effective communication for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Available accommodations include: American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter services with advance notice; written instructions and supplementary materials; captioned video content in online courses; visual demonstration emphasis during instruction; vibrating alerts or visual range commands when available; and preferential positioning near the instructor for lip reading. To request accommodations for deaf or hard of hearing individuals, please contact us at least 7 days before your scheduled class.
5. Accommodations for Students with Mobility Impairments
We strive to accommodate students with mobility impairments in our training programs. Depending on the specific training program and range facility, we may be able to provide: accessible shooting positions and bench rest options; adapted shooting techniques instruction; assistance with equipment setup and target changes; modified course requirements where safety is not compromised; and accessible parking and facility access. Please contact us to discuss your specific needs and how we can accommodate them.
6. Accommodations for Students with Cognitive or Learning Disabilities
We believe in adapting our teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs. For students with cognitive or learning disabilities, we offer: extended instruction time and additional one-on-one coaching; simplified written materials and visual aids; repetition-based learning with patient, experienced instructors; modified pace of instruction when safety is not compromised; and broken-down step-by-step instructions for complex procedures. Safety remains our top priority, and all students must demonstrate the ability to safely handle firearms before participating in live-fire exercises.
7. Feedback and Assistance
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our website and training programs. If you encounter accessibility barriers or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us. We take all accessibility concerns seriously and will respond to your inquiry within 2 business days. If you need to request a specific accommodation for an upcoming class, we encourage you to contact us as early as possible so we can make the necessary arrangements.
